Keyboard Shortcuts & System Settings

Speed up your workflow with keyboard shortcuts and configure performance, export, and cache settings.

Article· 4 min

Keyboard shortcuts dramatically speed up your Evoto workflow. Combined with proper system settings for performance, export defaults, and cache management, these foundational optimizations pay dividends on every editing session.

Key shortcuts

  • G — Grid View, D — Edit Mode, L — Loupe View, N — Survey View

  • Spacebar — Before/After comparison in Edit mode

  • P — Pick, X — Reject, U — Remove flag

  • 1–5 — Star ratings, 0 — Remove rating

  • 6–9 — Color labels (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue)

  • Cmd/Ctrl+C / Cmd/Ctrl+V — Copy/Paste adjustments

  • Cmd/Ctrl+Z — Undo, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Z — Redo

System settings

  1. Settings → Performance: set preview resolution and GPU acceleration preferences.

  2. Settings → Export: configure default export format, quality, and naming conventions.

  3. Settings → Cache: set cache location (fastest SSD) and manage cache size.

  4. Settings → Language: switch interface language if needed.

Try it

In a project with 10+ images, practice the full cull workflow using only keyboard shortcuts: star rate (1–5), flag (P/X), filter (\), and switch views (G/L/N).

Watch out for

  • Favorites are stored locally and do not sync to cloud yet.

  • Keyboard shortcuts may conflict with system-level shortcuts on some macOS configurations.
