Before you edit a single photo, Evoto needs to be installed correctly and configured for your hardware. This lesson walks you through download, installation, and the first-launch settings that prevent common performance issues.
How to do it
Go to evoto.ai/desktop and download the build that matches your OS — macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon) or Windows 10/11.
Run the installer. On macOS, drag Evoto to your Applications folder. On Windows, follow the setup wizard and keep the default install location.
Launch Evoto for the first time. The app will prompt you to sign in or create an account.
Open Settings → Performance. Set Preview Size to match your display resolution and point the Cache folder to your fastest SSD.
Confirm the app version in Settings → About. Keep it in sync with your team to avoid preset compatibility issues.
Try it
Open Evoto and verify the version number in Settings → About. Confirm your cache path points to an SSD with at least 20 GB free.
Watch out for
Running an older Evoto version than your team causes preset sync failures.
Insufficient disk space on the cache drive causes preview lag and export failures.
